Early this morning, USA Today announced that the EU recommends lifting restrictions to U.S. travelers. The full report states:

“The European Union is expected to recommend that member countries start lifting restrictions on tourists from the United States.

EU ambassadors agreed Wednesday to consider adding the United States to the list of countries from which nonessential travel is allowed. EU ministers will formally vote on the recommendation Friday.

If approved, it would apply to all U.S. travelers, including those who are not vaccinated. However, it’s worth noting that the EU recommendation is nonbinding and not enforceable.

Each of the EU’s 27 member states can decide how and when to adopt the recommendation and set its own guidelines, including requiring COVID-19 tests or proof of vaccination for entry.

Some EU countries have already started allowing in American visitors.”
