One of the highest esteemed galleries is ShanghART located at 50 Mongashan. There is a nice café located near the entrance. The Acrobatics in Shanghai are not to be missed. They take place every night for about two hours. Try to catch the Shanghai Acrobatic Troupe if they are performing during your stay. They are one of the greatest troupes in both China and the world. Acrobatic performances can be seen at the Shanghai Center Theater and Shanghai Circus World.

The Bund is a waterfront along the western bang of the Huangpu River, and one of the most noteworthy landmarks in Shanghai. Along the Bund are a series of buildings representing Gothic and Romantic styles of architecture. It is a great area to experience the old and the new of Shanghai. In addition to all this, you will get a clear view of the Pudong skyline. For a wonderful taste of historic China, visit Yu Garden. First conceived during the Ming Dynasty in 1559, Yu Garden is located next to the dynamic City God Temple, northeast of the Old City of Shanghai. The garden is divided into six different areas with pavilions, ponds, and traditional Chinese architecture.

M On the Bund is restaurant located on the Bund overlooking the Huangpu River and the Pudong skyline. The menu specializes in a mix of Middle Eastern and European dishes. M on the Bund specializes in their use of local dishes and ingredients such as foie gras and black truffles. For a taste of Shanghainese cuisine, pay a visit to Jesse. A small restaurant located in the former French Concession; Jesse is more than meets the eye. You will need to book a reservation several days in advance, as Jesse is legendary restaurant in Shanghai for traditional cuisine.

The center city area of Shanghai is surprisingly not that large geographically. It is easy to get around many areas of the city by foot. It is also easy to get around the city with the metro system, which you can also use to visit neighboring towns. English is not very widely spoken in Shanghai. It will be of good help to learn a few very basic phrases in Chinese before visiting.
